From 5 June to 24 July 2026, The Upper Room Mission (URM) held its Fifth Entrepreneurship Program, continuing its commitment to empowering young adults in Jerusalem with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to develop their own business ideas.
Over the course of eight weeks, participants took part in a combination of practical learning, group discussions, individual work, and mentorship. This approach enabled each participant to gradually develop, refine, and strengthen their business idea.
The program covered key areas of entrepreneurship, including:
- Identifying social and market needs
- Developing and evaluating business ideas
- Business Model Canvas and business planning
- Financial planning, costs, and pricing
- Business feasibility and sustainability
- Pitching and presenting a business idea
- Taxes, banking, and the practical requirements of running a business
Despite taking place during another period of uncertainty and renewed regional tensions, participants remained committed to the program, continuing to attend the sessions, develop their projects, and work toward completing their business plans.
The program concluded on 24 July 2026 with a graduation ceremony celebrating the participants’ commitment, progress, and achievements.
The ceremony included remarks from Mr. Tony Khashram, CEO of The Upper Room; Mr. Bassem Thabet, Chairman of the Board; and Rev. Dr. Fursan Zumot, Spiritual Advisor.
URM was also honored to welcome Bishop Barhoum Azar of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land, who addressed the graduates with words of encouragement and presented them with their certificates.
The Fifth Entrepreneurship Program reflects URM’s ongoing commitment to supporting young people in Jerusalem as they develop their skills, explore new opportunities, and work toward building sustainable futures for themselves and their communities.
